Powerful, neh? So, there's been recent controversy over Kelly Clarkson's single "Already Gone" because the music seems too similar to that of Beyonce's "Halo", but the lyrics are completely different. To be frank, I don't think it really matters because both songs are truly wonderful. I mean, there are so many musicians and music producers out there and thus, there's bound to be coincidences somewhere. I'm just saying...it happens and people shouldn't be blamed for feeling the same beat every once in a while. Maybe it's just a case that great minds think alike.

Anyways, I was listening to "Already Gone" for quite some time since it was aired as the goodbye song for female finalists on So You Think You Can Dance. I thought it was beautiful and it stuck.

Having listened to it continuously for the past few days, I've been imagining scenarios that could fit the lyrics so well. I do this often with music which keeps them fresh on my playlist while maintaining some healthy exercise for my imagination.

So here is what I picture in my head as a music video:

This isn't really a perfect summary of what I'm imagining but it's close enough.

Forbidden love: Woman is poor, man is rich. The man's family has high expectations but because he loves the woman, they believe it will hinder his future. Despite their deep connection, the pressure from the man's family and the constant abuse they've placed on her (without the man knowing)become too much. She loves him, no doubt, but because she doesn't want him to lose his family for she has no one herself, she succumbs to pushing him away. He understands their inability to be together, but he still has hopes that they can last longer. He's heartbroken, but he doesn't give up. The woman remembers all the great times they've had together. She knows that they can't be together. It's her or his family. She knows the importance of family. She meets him. They embrace. The next morning, the man wakes up alone with a letter beside his bed. It's a farewell letter addressing her reasons for her departure. Emotion builds in the man. He dresses and runs out the door, heading to her apartment. There, he knocks continuously shouting her name. The manager hears the desperation and opens the girl's room, telling him that all her things had been moved out the day before. The man asks the manager where she went. He doesn't know. All that is left is another letter addressed to the man. She wants him to move on. Their love was unforgettable, but it could never be. Someone had to go.

Ah...I sooo could have summarized that better with greater detail, but I feel like I'd be writing too much and boring you, so...maybe sometime later. I'll even think of names.

Here are the lyrics: "Already Gone"
Actual music video: "Already Gone" * I really felt like the music video was severely lacking, but heh, it's not my job to make them, so I can't have my way. *sighs*
