Anna Ternheim

Anna is a Swedish singer-songwriter who actually sings in English! "Girl Laying Down" was the first song I listened to and there was something about it that was really unique. It's probably the fact that it doesn't seem like she's singing. Well, she's singing obviously, but it's as if she's really just talking, but the way she's talking makes you interested in listening. It's weird, but awesome.

I didn't keep up with her music though because I was constantly looking for artists that didn't make it big yet here or internationally, but were talented. Or maybe I was just obsessed so much with Radiohead that I didn't bother ahaha. Anyways, today, I saw this:

I never watched her sing live, so when I watched that, I was moved and I continued to watch it nonstop for about three hours. It's so simple, but it's so beautiful. She makes it look like it's so easy! I'm so envious.

Unfortunately, I don't like the album (Leaving on a Mayday) version of the song as much. The simplicity of just having the piano in the song in the video above is so much better in my opinion. But then again, I did watch the video before listening to the album version. Maybe after listening to it a couple more times, I'll feel differently. That's most likely what's going to happen. :)
