This is long overdue. Missy Higgins was one of the many Myspace sensations in the last year or two. Her songs are meaningful to many. Songs of love, heartbreak, and hope. She sings with such a wonderful quality. It's hard not to be affected in some way. My favorite song so far as I'm sure many others will agree is "Where I Stood":

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the music video, so this live version will have to do. It's good, so :)

More and more, it seems I'm getting hooked on Indie music. It's not a bad thing. The music is fun and better than some crap on the radio these days. I remember hearing this song either on an iPod commercial or just cruising YouTube, but it's definitely one of those songs where you can't help but just chill to it. Ah yes, now I remember! I was watching the Brit show, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and the singer, Mette, was one of the guest players and they showed a clip of the band. She's very cute, by the way. Very adorable and easy-going, I would say. So here they are:

Probably the front runner for the New Moon (Twilight Series) theme song, Hana Pestle is a rising star in the contemporary field. Her voice is beautiful and her lyrics, deep.

Slumdog Millionaire was the movie to see last year. Not only did it sweep the boards on Oscar night, its soundtrack won great praise. Sadly though, it seems the U.S. industry had to get its hand on the profits by making their own version of the award-winning song, "Jai Ho".

I like the Pussycat Dolls, but I think remaking the song was very unnecessary. Even though it features the writer and singer A.R. Rahman, they just shouldn't have. It's not bad, to be honest, but why do you have to make something yours when its perfect the way it is? I just see the remake as something people will be disappointed about. Anyhoo, if you haven't seen it, here it is:

I think I'm really starting to get into electronica/trance/dance a lot more than before. I mean, I liked it, but I never listened to it continuously like I would other genres. This new feeling I have may be due to the fact that a couple of my friends are DJs, but who knows?

So Morgan Page. He's probably not as well known as other trance producers, but this song featuring Tyler James is so addicting. It's so smooth that I feel like I could glide through the air. Tyler James is a singer who was once dubbed Britain's Justin Timberlake, but it just didn't work out for the poor lad which is probably why his debut album was named The Unlikely Lad. Oh well. He does have a nice voice though.

I think she's a great singer to the point where it's hard for me to understand why she must continue to lead the Pussycat Dolls who alone, can't do anything but look slutty. Scherzinger does all the vocals on the album and even when performing live, she is so much better alone than with them. But then again, if you look at them all together, it works out to Scherzinger's advantage because the other girls make her even more beautiful.

This is their latest release and I love it! "I Hate This Part"
