HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Classic.

Dance, eat candy, and have a heck of a lot of fun. But, don't do something stupid.

Thom Yorke, folks! I can just say his name and you'll know that there's brilliance there. This is one of the singles off the New Moon soundtrack.

I can't help but think that the only good thing about the film adaptions of Stephenie Meyer's booksellers are the soundtracks. The acting sucks, the lead male isn't what I'd consider "Edward" and well, it could have been done so much better all-around. But the music, the music for a good 87% of the time couldn't be better.

I'll actually go to sleep on time and not past midnight. *Sighs* Since I'm up right now, it can't be helped, so I'll post something nice. I've been listening to this song all day. It's that good to me right now. It could get old if I continue to repeat it nonstop within a week, but cross your fingers that it doesn't. Right, without further adieu:

They're from South Africa, and according to some, the lead looks like Twilight's Edward. You be the judge. I think the singer is a lot hotter...you can actually understand what he's saying when he sings...oh, but what's kind of ironic, is the name of the band...Civil Twilight.

Uh huh. Well, that's it from me!

No wait, there's more. I'm going to start working on this site to make it more "original". I'm using one of those free templates that isn't really working to my best interest in terms of how I want everything set up, so look out for it (for whoever actually reads this).

Peace! Good night!

James Kinney, right? Never heard of him? I hadn't either, but I heard this:

and was like, "Nice." It's not really a song for a rainy day, but it actually got me off my lazy ass to study. Got me bopping my head and moving from side-to-side too. Good dance song for those peeps whose moves consists of feet and hip movements that aren't impressive, but still look somewhat decent.

Enjoy!

beautifully covered by Amy Lee. I thought it'd be a nice Halloween treat as the holiday is next week. :)

So right, I saw their music video a few weeks back and just didn't get around to sharing. I do that often don't I? Well, the band is The Gossip and they're an indie rock band from the US. I think they have more success in the UK, but whatever. I think they're awesome.

The lead singer is incredible, by the way. Her image isn't something that holds her back as it does some in the industry and I think that's inspirational. Who says you have to be stick thin to be talented?

When thinking about the songs I'm immediately attracted to, I find that I tend to fall in love with the songs with deep meanings referencing love, good or bad. The songs with emotion, songs that make my heart ache even when I'm not feeling what the artist felt when he/she wrote it and recorded it. Here's a song that I've fallen for:

Pilot Speed: "Alright"

Heart-wrenching.

I listened to her album, Leaving on a Mayday, quite a bit when it came out last year, and with the weather the way it is today (wet and cold), I felt this was a suitable song for the mood I'm in.

It's off her earlier album, but still, very good.

"Girl Laying Down"

I love the clothes in this video. I really wish I had a white dress like that. One day...I'll have one. If I don't buy it, I'm sure I'll desperately try to make it. As for Ternheim, I would totally wear that as a Halloween costume!

No you're not! But I forgive you. Haha. I've been a huge fan of Adele since the release of her album 19, and well, I'm still not completely over it, so here's her single "First Love". She sings with so much soul. You can feel what the song entails.

Alright, I'm not really a religious person (don't judge), but I am fascinated by different religions, especially the art that develops because of it. Anyways, that has nothing to do with the song that I'm talking about today. I was listening to "Losing my Religion" on the radio last night with a friend and we couldn't come up with the band. I did mention REM, but I was unsure, so after a night of thought and a morning of typing into Youtube, it's REM! W00t. Okay, so you're not excited about it, but I sure am. Now, enjoy.

They're really pretty decent live.

I'm kind of upset that I can't find the official music video, but that can't stop me from posting their live version. Eat that you record label you who takes down my favorite videos!

They're awesome live.

Side note: They're working on a new album. :D

Instead of writing my paper, I decided to put it off for a couple minutes while I sit and enjoy the awesomeness that is The Cranberries. I just Wikied them just to see what was up with them and I was so happy to read that they're going to have a REUNION! Please, contain your excitement. @$()%#@*Y%(@%Y@*RUWQORWQR@)T%@(YT)#TYIW:HQFQ!!!!

Since Halloween is just a couple weeks away, why not listen to "Zombie" even though it's not Halloween song? What? Zombies are Halloween-ish.

When I procrastinate is when I find the nicest music, I think. Like Florence and the Machine and their single "Dog Days are Over" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0ZPTFfpO40). She really reminds me of the singer Feist. From her look to the soft tone of her voice. I have to listen to more of her music to be sure, but if you like Feist, I suppose you could check out Florence's work. :)

Happy songs mean happier days. Who isn't bummed out about the economy? Who isn't tired to endless talk of Letterman and of Jon and Kate, healthcare reform, or the recent storms plaguing Asia? We've undergone so much this year that I think we should just sit down and relax. Grab a glass of lemonade (despite the fact that it's now autumn), sit outside on a bench, and chill to some music. Everything's going to be alright. If you look at your future in an optimistic manner, everything will fall in place. Negativity only makes things worse, so...

TRAIN! Their album drops on the 27th, so check it out. It features this very fabulous HAPPY song, "Soul Sister". I've listened to this more times than my stomach has growled so far, so yeah...

I didn't even know she had a new album, so when I saw the video for her single "Blow Away", I was stunned. I'm lagging behind in my new music, people! Anyways, I'm glad I stumbled upon this. Alison is so adorable in the video. I wish I could do my hair like that. It's so classic and elegant, and her outfit! Her whole look screams adorable. Her newest album is Bomb in a Birdcage. Check it out!

Here's the music video to her single "Blow Away": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7N5L1yCFUc

Truth be told, I've been rather stressed lately with all this crap I have to do and have procrastinated to this point. Don't worry though, it'll get done eventually even if I have to limit my sleep to do so. Right, now, this is a new band that I kind of just discovered (yay). They're a rock band called the State of Man, and lucky for you (and me), they've released a new album. I've just listened to what they have on their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/stateofman) and at times, I think "Hm...sounds Incubus-ish and somewhat OneRepublic" but that's just my opinion. I haven't really given it much thought to compare since I'm just enjoying it haha. Check them out!

The band with no name performed last night and...I am so jealous of those who got to see it! Thom Yorke, Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco. Come on! Who wouldn't want to see them all in action? TOGETHER?! So very jealous, but thanks to a very generous person who got video and pretty decent audio, I got to experience just a bit of it, and now so can you!

Oh gosh no, not Taylor Swift. I think I've gotten enough of her and that Kanye drama a few weeks(?) back. Now it's constant airplay of all her songs and let me tell you...you can only get so much of her before it gets really old for a really long time. And I like her music! Gotta blame the radio stations for turning me completely off to her. It'll probably take a year for me to get back or maybe another album before I can stand to listen to her music again.

Now that you know my current situation with that, here's something I have yet to tire of:

This was an amazing cover of Massive Attack. I never heard of Newton Faulkner until I saw this video. Made me sit with awe when he started tapping his guitar and playing with his left hand. Talent, I'd say. Great vocals too.

I hope you enjoy!
